Road Trip!

16 hours of angels!! I'm not even joking. I have no idea why they were so wonderful or why I was so lucky but the boys were just perfect for 16 hours from Aurora, Illinois to Fort Collins, Colorado. Not one tantrum, no tears, no screams, not even a poopy diaper! No accidents, no fights, just quiet wonderful peace. They played together, they looked at books, role played with their toys, watched a movie and slept. John is amazing and he drove 14 1/2 hours while I drove a whopping hour and a half. But we made it and were so excited to see our family!

Grandma Totten was very prepared with child gates and loads of toys! The boys were in heaven with all their gifts.

Here is Grandpa West/Dad looking through the photo books we had made for him for Christmas.
John and his mom having fun with the new toys :)
Patrick took us all out to Outback Steakhouse for dinner and it was delicious! I had prime rib for the first time. Definitely won me over.
We told the waitress it was Jacob's birthday. It was 7 days just before this so we had fun with it! He was still a little unsure of flames.
He did not share the ice cream. Which is funny because he never ever eats ice cream.
Grandma Totten made a sledding hill out back for the kids to play on. They got all bundled up and had a blast!

Three generations.

Grandma made cookies with the boys. Jackson loved cutting them out and choosing which shapes to make.
Jacob waiting patiently for his turn and showing Daddy his toy.

We had a fun little movie night with everyone in our pajamas. We watched a bunch of short Christmas movies.

This picture is priceless. Jackson was so excited because he actually thinks that his Grandpa West is Santa Claus. He walked up to Terry and said "I want a big optimus prime transformer and a big francesco toy." He called him Santa the whole time we were there. I love it! And clearly Terry loves it.
